Next Generation 911

Do what's right for today and tomorrow.

As we move to Next Generation 911, the need for accurate and current GIS data for public safety becomes more critical. A real-time database of local GIS data will perform location validation (LVF) of the device calling 911, identify emergency service jurisdictions, and route the 911 call to the proper PSAP as part of the Emergency Call Routing Function (ECRF).

The ECRF will assure that your GIS data is used for location (address) verification and validation, placing control of the data back into the hands of the local 911 authorities. With this focus on local GIS data, the ECRF represents an evolution within 911.

While the ECRF is a component of Next Generation 911, it can also be used in today's 911 system. The ECRF can serve as the authoritative source of location validation and routing information for all service providers – ILECs, CLECs, VoIP and others while at the same time allowing PSAPs and local 911 authorities to regain control of their data.
