Innovation fueled by experience.

It's no surprise that our customers tell us that we find answers when others can't — and creative solutions when others come up empty.

Since 1993, we’ve had a wealth of experience building base maps — and we’re all about innovation. From building next-generation GIS software to collecting reliably accurate and consistent 911 map data, innovation is our passion and it fuels what we do every day.

Over 20 years ago, The Ohio State Center for Mapping began developing the first generation of advanced mobile data collection vehicles for a NASA initiative. Realizing that street addresses are the key to unlocking the enormous potential and power of all aspects of GIS, we built upon this early technology and developed what is today the most effective, reliable and accurate method for collecting highly detailed road centerline address data in the industry. Utilizing our third-generation fleet of vehicles that are equipped with state-of-the-art distance measuring instrumentation and inertial navigation systems, our team of GIS professionals has leveraged our Voice Information Recording and Data Acquisition System (VIRDA) to accurately collect more than tens of thousands of miles and millions of addresses.

This unparalleled process led us to be recognized by local government as the provider of choice for the pilot phase of Ohio’s statewide initiative to build a high-resolution road centerline GIS data layer. Subsequently, our approach has become the model for "Transportation for the Nation". The project included a comprehensive point-based and field-verified address inventory, advanced address ranges, state ties to the Department of Transportation's Linear Referencing System (LRS) and a wide-ranging road asset inventory — just another example of one of many creative solutions we’ve developed for our clients throughout the years.
